This was part of the "Pure & Crafted" festival, which is essentially a try to improve BMV Motorcycles' rotten image. If you like to get brainwashed about how BMW motorcycles are suddenly cool while stuffing your face with that stupid pulled pork and washing it all down with super authentic craft beer served by someone who actually puts product in his beard, then this is your festival. Really weird, commercial vibe. But I won't complain, after all this festival's booking gave me the chance to see the High Flying Smurfs on this tour after all. I was out of town when they played their Schmelinghalle show in Berlin last year.
Noel seems to have picked up on the weird vibe of this festival. Check out his vitriolic comments on motorcycles before "If I Had A Gun". The set was also very short, with no encores. They could have easily played for 30 minutes more before the curfew.
Big surprise (for me) was that former Oasis / Beady Eye drummer Chris Sharrock was on drums, not Jeremy Stacey.
