Show Notes: It was an odd choice in my opinion to have Noel Gallagher's first show in Melbourne since 2016 as support act for U2, especially as there was to be no separate headlining show. Still, if you're getting paid to travel to the other side of the world with U2 to play for 55 minutes every few days you'd take it too I suppose. While they played the new songs there was a general sense of apathy from the stadium crowd, plenty of chatter and no one really paying attention until the Oasis songs started. Still, it was a fine performance, but really Noel needed to be doing his own show, not playing to a half full stadium to an audience who wasn't there to see them.

Recording Notes: I recorded this from the oval about 1/3 of the way back, and it came out really well, just needing a declip and some EQ adjusting. A bit of audience chatter around me at times which is not unexpected for a support act at a stadium show (or even the main act), but overall not too distracting. It's a good recording and I figured as I haven't seen another source emerge for any of the U2 support shows I'd get this one out there.

For those wondering, I did record U2 as well, but given there's another source out there that sounds really good I have not bothered to release mine. If there's interest though I'll take a look. Enjoy!
