Originally listed as "Dartford Polytechnic Students Union; Dartford (Supporting the Ya Yas)" but corrected thanks to John Marley (promoter of the event) who reached out to me in 2025 to correct the venue listing.

Thames Poly became University of Greenwich later in 1992. The Dartford campus is now North Kent College, and the Airport Lounge (or "APL") was so-called because of the row of glass windows and views over the surrounding areas making it feel like Heathrow or Gatwick.

In 2025 a number of flyers and posters relating to this gig were listed in a Propstore Auction suggesting that the date of this gig was actually March 19th, 1992:
    • The "World Jones Made" poster specifically mentions March 19th
    • The other flyers state "Thursday 19th" (April 19th was a Sunday, March 19th was a Thursday)
    • The Daily Mirror has a gig listing for World Jones Made at the venue on March 19th
Thanks to @deadman on the Live4Ever forum for the research on this. I caught up with the promoter of this gig for for a chat over a beer at the Propstore VIP event on October 22, 2025. Apparently the gig physically took place at the Airport Lounge ("APL") at the Dartford Campus of Thames Poly located on Oakfield Lane, Dartford.

All three bands - World Jones Made, The Ya Yas and Oasis - were picked due to his Oldham contacts (Noel had given him the demo tapes at a party at India House a few months before).

Tony McCarroll was also there for Propstore's Q+A session with him and Zak Starkey and Tony told the story of the chaotic gig in Dartford that night.

Little did the band know that the sound engineer failed to show on the day and most of the necessary equipment was missing, so the promoter had to beg and borrow amps/pa/microphone hours before the gig so that it could go ahead.

Two ambulances ended up being on site due to some over indulgence from the crowd and the police were also investigating an altercation that took place - amidst all the chaos someone in the Oasis entourage made off with the two rag week charity tins containing hundreds of pounds.
