commentsIn John Robb's excellent book The North Will Rise Again, Noel is quoted as saying "Alan was really shitting it waiting for us to sign. He gave us two grand to go to Loco Studios in Wales [footnote: September 1993] and we did demos of Live Forever, Up in the Sky and Bring it On Down. We sent him the demos and he said he could only listen to them once because, if he didn't sign us, it would have upset him too much" (p. 367).According to the inlay of the late nineties bootleg Under the Boardwalk on the Big Kahuna label: "Live Forever" is a full demo and features Bonehead on piano. Shakermaker is from the same source complete with hand claps and withdrawn lyrics. Scream Louder adds "Digsy's Dinner" to the other two previously-available tracks and credits the recordings to the "Live Demonstration" Casette, although none of these tracks were actually on Live Demonstration. In 1997, Creation Records put together an 11-track cover-mount cassette called Creation for the Nation which to be packaged free with the NME, which included "Live Forever (Demo)" as the leading track. The tape also featured acts such as The Boo Radleys, Teenage Fanclub and the Super Furry Animals. A small number of Promo CDs (with better sound quality) were also pressed for promotional use (Catalogue Number: CRENME97). This version of "Live Forever (Demo)" runs at 5:15 and is the first commercially-available version of this track (albeit on a rare promo CD). In 1999, Creation Records used "Live Forever (Demo)" as the leading track on a new 12-track promotional compilation CD, Priceless Creation (Catalogue number: "MID PRICE 02"), to be given away free with mid-price CDs from their back-catalogue. This version runs at 5:12, but it's only silence at the end of the track that has been trimmed. The excellent Oasis Demos site by Mr Monobrow lists the sources of these demos as:
