Music by Noel, lyrics by Liam, Chris Griffiths & NoelTheir debut release, 510 copies of this white label 12" demo were pressed and issued to media in December 1993. The track made it on to the Radio 1 playlist.
The White Label Demo was frequently listed as being lifted straight from the infamous Live Demonstration tape, but this isn't quite right: It might have been compiled from the same session tracks but the version on Live Demonstration is a different mix - it launches straight into the opening guitar riff, whereas the version released on "Supersonic" starts with a drum intro.
The version on Live Demonstration fades in the chanting around 04:00 followed by the looped Tony Benn speech, followed by the chanting fading out. The version on "Supersonic" features a longer guitar solo, the Tony Benn speech isn't so high in the mix and the chanting fades out over a longer period.
Turns out this mix was worked on during the Out of the Blue sessions in October, 1993.
