Whatever Demos is a 2004 CD transfer by MickDude from a demo tape handed out in 1994. It's very possible that these songs were recorded in different sessions.
Notable tracks are:
"Whatever" - missing the "Whatever you do Whatever you say..." lyrics at the end and has synthesised strings.
"Bring It On Down" - has "sole of my... shoe" rhymed with "don't know who" instead of having "tonight" added to the end of the line.
"Alive" and "Cloudburst" - different to the previously available 8-track and Demo versions
"Deg's Dinner", "Inside Me" and "Spaceman" for the different titles, although these may have been written this way to fit onto the hand-written label
All in all, it is very likely that these demos pre-date any demos previously available as the lyrics on "Whatever" and "Bring it on Down" appear to have been later modified.
Notes from the Remaster:
Raised the levels and balanced the Left and Right Channels on all tracks. Also improved clarity on a few tracks. Re-Fixed the missing chord on the left channel in the intro to Whatever (What do you mean you didn't notice I had fixed it in the original??). Made some slight speed fixes, most notably on Live Forever and took out some of the tape hiss from all tracks. Then I got Bored. I hope you feel that the increase in quality of these versions is sufficiant to warrant the download.
By 2016 the latest thinking on the sources of these demos is:
Deg's Dinner (Incomplete Intro) (Demo) - Loco Studios, September 1993
Live Forever (Demo) - Loco Studios, September 1993
Inside Me (Demo) - Real People Sessions, 1993
Spaceman (Demo) - Mark Coyle's Home Studio, 1993
Whatever (Demo) - Uncomfirmed Studio, Possibly Real People Session 1993
Alive (Demo) - Real People Sessions, 1993
Cloudburst (Demo) - Real People Sessions, 1993
Bring It On Down (Demo) - Real People Sessions, 1993
Rock 'n' Roll Star (Demo) - Real People Sessions, 1993
In 2023 James Hargreaves interviewed Chris and Tony from the Real People for his YouTube channcel who confirmed that the version of "Whatever" was indeed a demo recorded with them.
Chris and Tony confirmed that this session comprised of:
Noel: Drums & Lead Guitar Overdubs
