comments
Very good atmosphere in this hometown gig. It sounds like the band have realised what lies ahead of them, and Liam keeps thanking various people, and the crowd.
There are two versions of Hometown Showdown apparently released by Walrus records. Based on the artwork from their first release ("Supersonic Pop Reaction" / WMCD001) I would
say that the version with Liam on the cover (and slightly longer runtime) is the original release and the version with the psychadelic colours is either a re-release or
a copy from a rival bootleg company. (This seemed to happen quite a lot in the bootleg scene in the mid-nineties - no honour among thieves and all that).
The first release with the (slightly) longer runtime was cloned by Flashbulb Records for their "All The Young Blues" 2CD release.
All sources are missing "Shakermaker" - was this song played that night or was it cut to make the show fit onto an 80m CD?
When All The Young Blues (2020 James Remaster/Remix) was shared online it was purposely missing "Cigarettes and Alcohol" and Noel's acoustic set because these tracks were made available on the Definitely Maybe reissue in 2014.
