Release Notes
This album features five of the seven shows from the 1995 Japan tour for which audio recordings have been confirmed. The 1995 tour, which followed on from the previous year and expanded in scale, was canceled in February of that year and then rescheduled. At this point, the album "Morning Glory" had not yet been released, and only the single "Roll With It" had been released shortly before the Japan tour. However, the setlist featured new tracks from the album that Japanese fans would likely be hearing for the first time.
As with their first visit to Japan in 1994, an acoustic section by Noel was included in the set to accommodate the performance time and to protect Liam's throat. This included an early acoustic performance of "Fade Away," originally featured on the WAR CHILD charity album "Help," which Noel and Liam would be involved in producing after returning to Japan. Additionally, in "Whatever," the verses are sung as chorus phrases, a version like this only seen at the 1995 Japan tour. After "Whatever," they alternate days with a medley of "All The Young Dudes" and "Octopus's Garden," but "Whatever" itself is rare.
During the first Osaka performance at MATSUSHITA IMP HALL, Liam changed the phrase "behind your eyes" to "behind my eyes" in the verse of "Acquiesce," and Noel, as if responding, changed the lyrics to the exact opposite: "We don't need each other, we don't believe in one another, I know we'll never uncover what's sleeping in our soul," making this a must-listen phrase.
Compared to their first and subsequent visits to Japan, the 1995 performance in Japan is not blessed with sound sources, and there are not many already released titles. Even so, by selecting the best sources from each performance and compiling them in this way, it has become a culmination of their second visit to Japan. In addition, a reproduction tour pamphlet of the poster type from that time is included with every set. We hope you will relive Oasis' 1995 performance in Japan, which has already become an important part of the history of the Japanese rock scene, by looking at this. A beautiful picture disc with a permanently preserved press edition.

Release Notes
Oasis' 1995 Japan tour was not blessed with a sound source. It was a 1995 visit, and the recordings included here are not tapered, but rather audience recordings reminiscent of the texture of a fan recording from a cassette Walkman. While the sound image itself is quite close, Liam's singing voice is distant. Furthermore, the sound has a rough quality, with a tendency to crackle. This is presumably recorded from a fairly close distance on the stage at a live house. The unique balance, with the vocals being somewhat overpowered by the performance, speaks for itself. Furthermore, the version widely popular among traders is pitched higher, further raising the listening hurdle. It's understandable that this recording was limited to releases like "SPLENDER 1" until now. While "SPLENDER 1" and other releases had been equalized to mitigate this roughness, the version included with this initial delivery lacks this tweak, with only the pitch adjusted. Since the original recording was on cassette, the natural feel of this unequalized version isn't bad. It's even more so since the original is so distorted. While it's certainly not something you should listen to with headphones, the excitement in the venue is fantastic, making it the best performance of their 1995 Japan tour. It also has a homey, intimate feel that's immediately apparent. This is another reminder that the recording was made at the front of the venue. The performance also becomes much easier to listen to when Noel plays his acoustic set. Furthermore, "Cast No Shadow" lacks the delay effects of "OSAKA 1995 2ND NIGHT DAT MASTER," with Noel simply playing and singing, just like the live versions that followed. The highlight is the everlasting classic "Don't Look Back In Anger," performed in a small, pre-release setting, with the final lyrics ad-libbed (presumably because Noel forgot them), a rare sight only available before the release. Liam's voice wasn't in great shape when he returned to the stage after "Live Forever," but it was heartwarming to see him persevere and sing until the very end. While it's undeniable that the recording quality is more geared toward enthusiasts than "OSAKA 1995 2ND NIGHT DAT MASTER," which was literally recorded using DAT, it's also true that the performance content and the atmosphere of the venue are completely different, making this a valuable document. And in 2021, previously released CDs are also hard to come by. Please try this rare recording from the 1995 Japan tour. But don't listen to it with headphones!

Noel introduces "Cast No Shadow" as "this is a new one off the album, it's called Cast No Shadow..."
Noel also sings "Whatever" tonight with a slightly different version of the "always seems to me" bridge melody.
I'm pretty sure all the versions of the show in circulation are from the same original audience source, just different generation of cassette transfers and mastering effects (mainly volume!).
Recordings of this show were traded in the late 1990s / early 2000s as Imperial Hall, Oasaka, Japan (Aug 28, 1995) but were in fact recordings of this show, missing "I Am The Walrus".
There are pretty much two groups of shows in circulation with different levels of of amplification, one is HEAVILY clipped/distorted while the other is not:
#1: "Hello Goodbye (1CD)" / "Liquid Nights (2CD)" / "Two Girls With Pills And Powders (2CD)" / "Liquid Gig (2CD)"
The versions that use source #2 are a LOT louder and quite distorted as a result.
Two Girls With Pills And Powders seems to be the most complete source available: it has a longer intro/outro and clocks in at 1:22:24 across two CDs while the other sources are 76/78mins (1CD), although it's pretty bass-heavy and missing some high end. Am guessing this is the closest relation of the original recording.
Below are the waveforms of the first track from each source:
