Release Notes
Great groups have radio broadcasts of their peak performances that cannot be heard on official live albums. The Rolling Stones' Brussels is a prime example. Oasis also has the best radio broadcasts that capture the day they performed their most spectacular live show in 1996, when their popularity was at its peak. In their case, they realized radio broadcasts of their yokozuna presence in Europe and the United States in March 1996, the former being the Cardiff performance familiar from "J.I.L.Y.", while the latter is the Fairfax performance that has established an unshakable position. The fact that there are two radio sound sources in one month and both have amazing performances speaks volumes about how Oasis was at the peak in March 1996. Not only are they perfect stereo soundboard recordings because they are radio sound sources, but above all, both broadcasts have produced many items because they captured the best performances. As for Fairfax, "PATRIOT GAME" and "TALLER THAN JESUS CHRIST" are representative, and many people own them. The original radio broadcast disc "LIVE FROM THE PIT" was widely distributed in real time, and it was possible to release a soundboard album with the highest sound quality just by copying it. However, as is common with broadcast discs, there is no division of tracks, and the items could be made by simply dividing the songs into tracks at the time of release. Although such processing was done on the masterpieces released so far, there were other problems that could not be ignored. The broadcast disc "LIVE FROM THE PIT" had a high volume level for the opening and commercial parts played before the live performance, but when the main part of the Oasis live performance began, the volume dropped, and there was a problem that the volume had to be turned up when playing it. In the past, there was a phenomenon that the volume would increase when a commercial came on in television broadcasts, and this was also the case on radio. This difference in volume is quite large, and the frustration when the main part of the live performance started after the opening section reminded me of the low volume of the early CDs. Not only that, there was a part in the main part of the live performance where the volume somehow dropped in the middle of "Hello" (resulting in the already low volume dropping even further), and the low volume of Noel's acoustic corner was also a concern. Since the sound was so good that it was a recording source that would have been sufficient even if it had been released normally, such problems had been neglected until now, but for this release, these volume differences, which could be said to be the last step, were precisely adjusted. Above all, the volume did not drop suddenly after the opening, and finally the main part of the live performance could be heard as it was! And the high-tension performance throughout the entire live performance was very outstanding, and he repeatedly used words that were not allowed to be broadcast. It was also impressive that because of this, the problematic scene was covered up with a "jijiri" sound instead of a buzzer sound. The best part was the scream that Noel gave before "Supersonic" - "Cats! Cats! Mouse! Dog!". This was the name of "Cat and Mouth", a company that provided catering for concert dressing rooms in the US. By 1996, Oasis' popularity in the US had skyrocketed, and they were able to tour in arenas, and they had risen to the point where they could provide catering in the dressing rooms, which was a testament to their success. And since the live performance that day was recorded for broadcast, Noel, knowing this, shouted this cleverly (although most people probably didn't understand the true meaning) to promote the catering company. Therefore, this time we have a chapter on this short but unforgettable scene (lol). It goes without saying that these funny scenes are great, but Liam's voice is so loud that it feels great throughout the whole film. The biggest event in the summer of 1996, the best performance of Oasis, who were on an updraft before the official release at Knebworth this autumn, is a wonderful performance that can be confidently recommended to all fans without exaggeration. The good thing about the radio broadcast is that the sound is not as elaborate as the official live album, and yet Noel and Bonehead's guitars are easily separated, and they are captured with a vivid texture, which is a big attraction. Of course, this time, not only the live performance but also the entire program was recorded for the reasons mentioned above, and the commercials included were also uncut. Of course, this part is not related to Oasis' performance, so if you only want to listen to the live performance, you can skip it. However, in the middle of the broadcast, an interview with Noel and Bonehead appeared, and Noel's remarks that became the title of a past masterpiece can be heard, so the fun of the whole program conveys the atmosphere of 1996, so you can't miss it. And the only drawback, the volume difference, has been eliminated, and the definitive version of the rare masterpiece radio broadcast of Oasis' 1996 performance, which can be listened to without stress, has finally been released!

NOTES:
Editing was done to eliminate commercials and DJ banter. The really short interviews with the band are included in
the 'banter' track, included is the show intro / outro tracks (depending on how you want to listen to it). The
regular show was edited enough so it sounds like one show, the track breaks are between t6/7, t10/11, and t13/14.

All the soundboard bootlegs in circulation are from the Global Satellite Network syndicated show "Live from the Pit", originally Broadcast Mar 25-31, 1996 and supplied on Promo CDs to radio stations:
During "The Swamp Song", Liam says "good evening France!", then appologises saying "dunno where the fuck I am, forgotten all about it!".
The band sound like they are having a crack and talk a lot of shit throughout the performance (eg. Liam randomly says "John Craven's Newsround" before they launch into "I Am The Walrus" - the US crowd wouldn't have had a clue what he was talking about...
On the original FM broadcasts there are some promo clips of Noel after "Champagne Supernova" and "Slide Away". Noel also bangs on about how he hates Hole and Courtney Love (and how he'd take it all back if he ever met her).
"This is Noel and Bonehead from OASIS and we're at the Pit. The best syndicated live-thingy we've ever done. Allegedly."
"Hello this is Bonehead and Noel from OASIS and we're back, live at the Pit. And it's shit in the pit..."
American Supernova incorrectly lists the date as March 8th and is missing "Supersonic" and "Cigarettes and Alcohol".
The Super Golden Radio Shows release is designed to look like a radio station promo, but as far as I can tell it's a bootleg (originating from Italy) and is identical to American Supernova
Loch 'n Roll Star from D.A.T (and the copy from Generation, "Scotland Forever") were released to cash in demand for recordings of the historica Loch Lomond gigs in 1996 but were actually just edited down versions of this show.
Tartan Dream from KTS (and the copy "Take The High Road") were the same, even listing the Fairfax tracks as being from Loch Lomond.
An audience video source exists on VHS/DVD transfer and was bundled with Holy Shit!! (Livid At Yankee) from Betrayer Deluxe. Unfortunately it has been cropped for widescreen and is from a 2nd generaiton (at least) VHS source - but is complete.
(Better quality copies of the show exist on VHS but "I Am The Walrus" is cut.)
