Some copies supposedly of this show that are in circulation are actually from the 2nd night: during the 1st show Liam dedicates "Live Forever" to "the Princess" (referring to Princess Diana who died a month earlier on August 31st, 1997). On the following night he dedicates the song to "The Band".
Liam dedicates Stay Young to "all the old farts".
Only Earl's Court '97 (1st Night) Complete contains the whole set including The Verve's support slot, although "Magic Pie" is unfortunately cut near the end.
Earl's Court '97 I has lots of glitches during the recording - not a great recording at all. I'm trying to work out if the problems were on the master or if it's just the copy I have.
Earl's Court '97 (1st Night) DAT SOURCE is a new (apparently) DAT SOURCE of this night. There are some sound problems during "Supersonic" and "Some Might Say" and in a couple of other places during CD1. Still not a great source of this night.
GMTV broadcast clips from the gig on 26/09/1997, including "Stand By Me"
On the video source the taper gets frustrated at getting their view of the stage blocked and so they resort to filming the video screen around 15 minutes in. Later they manage to sort it out and get some closeup shots for the rest of the gig.
