All songs are Noel acoustic tracks with this gig being one of many acoustic slots Noel did for Paul Weller on his Summer 1998 tour.
He doesn't say much before Wonderwall - he plays around with his guitar a little (sounds like "D'you Know What I Mean?"), then stops for about 5 seconds, then he goes "I havn't forgotten it!" and continues to play Wonderwall.
A fine version it is too.
After that he askes:
"Is anyone here from Ebbw Vale?
That's where I've got my bank account that is, in Ebbw Vale.... it's true.
My Manager comes from Ebbw Vale, and he wouldn't let me have my bank account near my house incase someone stole all my money.
Are there any bank robbers here? There's only one bank to robb in Wales, and it's in Ebbw Vale, and it's got 48 million quid in there under my name....... or is it 49?
I have to dedicate this to Rod (Stewart), to say thanks for the swimming pool he bought me in my back garden.
Very nice one it is too, i got it made in tartan.
So every time I piss in it I think of Rod!".
By this time Noel, and the crowd are a little more relaxed.
He lets the crowd sing the first chorus for him, saying "You are, you're probably better than I am".
Then as he'sabout to sing the outro, the crowd butt in and do it for him :)
As it was his last support slot, Noel says a few words:
"Right then, I'd just like to thank Paul for having us on this little tour...where is he? He's in the bar isn't he? C**t!
You'd think he'd have the decency to come and watch us after paying me all this money!
Thanks to the crew as well, who've been extremley average!
And my mate over there, Jason. I'm gonna start crying!
Anyway, this one's called "Live Forever". Good night!".
