Release Notes
To commemorate the release of Oasis' 2001 live recordings for the first time in a long time, we present a rare live video of Oasis in 2001. Their first live performance of the year was at the festival "ROCK IN RIO" held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. At the "ROCK IN RIO" festival this year, the attention was focused on Guns N' Roses, who were performing for the first time in eight years, while Oasis' performance came at a time when there was no particular buzz after the turbulent "STANDING ON THE SHOULDER OF GIANTS" had ended, and they were not covered much in the media. This was the beginning of their activities that symbolized the transitional year of 2001, but the performance on that stage was particularly fulfilling. This gift proves it. The "ROCK IN RIO" festival has a tradition of being broadcast on television, and thanks to this, professional shot footage of their stage was also left behind. Since it was broadcast on television in Brazil in 2001, it cannot be denied that the quality is not ultra-clear when viewed with today's eyes, but the image quality is definitely better than the version currently available on YouTube. The set list is a digest of the previous year's tour pattern, and the floral shirt Liam wears on stage is reminiscent of the one he wore in the music video for "Who Feels Love". Meanwhile, Noel sings a cover of Neil Young's "Hey Hey, My My", which gives a sense of the "STANDING ON~" era in every sense, and yet it was an interesting time when the stage was from a different era, so it can be reevaluated now. Above all, this was the first time he started working in 2001, so Liam's voice is in excellent condition. From the opening song "Go Let It Out", you can see that his voice quality still belonged to that of the 2000 tour. In addition, the pro shot and sound board make his crisp singing stand out even more. Liam sang "Live Forever" on this day better than at Fuji Rock, and it can be said that this is a masterpiece. And the closing song "Rock 'n' Roll Star" was dedicated to Axl Rose of Guns N' Roses, who was the talk of the town at the time. This is a live video that captures Oasis in January 2001 in detail.
