This gig was a support slot for U2. Noel introduces the band "Good evening, we're Oasis, from Manchester." Liam clarifies: "Manchester, England!".Oakland Here I Come was frequently traded as a recording from the 1st night (18/06/97) when in fact it was a different audience source of the 2nd night.
Oakland '97 (1st Night) is a GENUINE recording of the 1st Night sourced from a DAT master - most of the other copies of this show in circulation are different audience sources of the 2nd night.
A second DAT source of the show is also in circulation ("DAT Clone (Source #2) [flac]") with a longer intro. In my opinion this 2nd source is brighter/clearer and would be a superior recording if not for the audience chatter which is quite loud at times. In the words of @jezza2 on the Live4Ever forum "It's kinda a toss up of to which is better, but a new source is a new source!" :)
