i got it considerably in old days.
so the sound quality became a little bad (room temperature, sunlight, moisture...etc).
but i think that i improved it a little.
Stand By Me (Acoustic, BBC Radio 1 Version) [5:34]
It's Getting Better Man (BBC Radio 1 Version) [4:14]
Billed as "Live at Maida Vale Studios" even though "Stand By Me" was recorded at Bonehead's house and It's Getting Better Man was recorded at AIR Studios.
Live at the Horizon CD2 Track #3
Stand By Me (Acoustic, BBC Radio 1 Version) [5:51]
Slightly different version from the updated version of the Radio 1 special aired in December 1997: the guitar intro is dubbed over with an interview with Noel about touring in the USA.
Jo Whiley commentary begins around 4:35 talking about the cancelled 1996 US Tour along with comments from Guigsy and Liam dubbed over the whole last part of the song.
comments
Jo Whiley presents this Radio 1 special on the day that Be Here Now was released. History of the band, Interviews with all the band members; Exclusive Radio 1 Session tracks, album tracks etc.
The show was also distributed on Transcription CD to syndicated stations.
The sessions at AIR Studios took place on July 2nd and 3rd, 1997. The session at Bonehead's House took place on July 4th, 1997.
The versions of the live session tracks on the "Right Here Right Now" BBC TV Special and this Radio Special are completely different takes from the same sessions:
"Stand By Me":
Radio Broadcast - Liam sings the second verse ("Times are hard when things have got no meaning...") whereas on the TV Special the first verse leads straight into the chorus.
TV Broadcast - all the choruses consists of 2x rounds of "Stand By Me, nobody knows the way it's gonna be"
Radio Broadcast - all the choruses consists of 3x rounds of "Stand By Me, nobody knows the way it's gonna be"
Radio Broadcast - The vocal on Liam's "If you're leaving..." verse is a bit rough (sounds like he needs to clear his throat on the first word) whereas on the TV Broadcast it's a clean take
"Be Here Now":
TV Broadcast - Liam fluffs the lyrics in the first verse and sings "Make no sweat of the SONG that you're diggin" (with a bit of a squeak on the "Make").
"It's Getting Better (Man!!)":
TV Broadcast - Liam has a little voice break on "wish" in the first verse.
The Be Here Now "Chasing The Sun Remaster" uses the BBC Radio 1 source, presented in full for the first time (the version aired in the radio special starts with an interview with Liam and finishes with Jo Whiley speaking over the guitar outro).
